BLACKSHEAR — Mr. Bobby Wayne Courson, 69 of Blackshear, passed away Friday evening, July 23, 202, at his residence. Born November 23, 1951, in Blackshear, he had lived in Pierce County all his life. Courson was a 1969 graduate of Blackshear High School. Following graduation, he went on to serve in the United States Army. Courson enjoyed fishing and golfing in his free time. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Courson was of the Baptist Faith. He was a son of the late Harold and Carolyn Sapp Courson. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Allen Courson of Blackshear; three sons and daughters-inlaws Wade and Ashley Courson of Blackshear, Jay and Becky McBee of Waycross, and Russell and Chasti McBee of Alma; one brother, James Courson of Blackshear; eight grandchildren, Tyler (Mallory) McBee, Taten (fiancé Amelia Hiott) McBee, Jonathan Bullard, Brittany Bullard, Delilah Rose Courson, Wade Alexander Courson, Haleigh McBee, and Emalee McBee; one great-grandchild, Braxton McBee; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A funeral service for Courson was held Tuesday morning, July 27, 2021, at the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in the Springhill Cemetery in Brantley County.
